Music video production

The song I'm going to choose for my music video production is Daft punk- Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.

Meaning:The meaning of this song is that it's about not giving up and keep going until you have improved, and also meaning to make yourself better at the skill your particularly good at.

Content- That me and my mate will be working out at the gym and showing how hard we are working, getting better, make ourselves stronger and making our selves faster. I will also be filming my rugby team and myself for the music video is well.

Imagery- My music video will take place at Trugym with my mate Avinash as we are working out at the gym. It will also take place at Middlesbrough college astro turf as I will be doing rugby training with middlesbrough rugby academy. Me and my mate working out at the gym lifting weights, running on treadmill and doing cardio work. Rugby working on tackling, passing the ball and working together as a team. Cycling as fast as they can in the Tour De Yorkshire and my cousin practicing his moves to become a black belt in Karate.

Narrative- The story about this music video is about never giving up on something that looks hard to do and never giving up on your team or your friends. Never given up your task that your trying to achieve your main goals

Duration- This song lasts for 3 minutes and 45 seconds.

Pace- The speed of this song is very fast and through out the song it is very fast, but there are some areas of the song where the pace of the song will start to slow down. Where I will be adding slow motion clips to the music video.

Style- The type of style this song is more techno, robot music, and also disco.

Scenario- Working out at the gym, make ourselves fitter, stronger, better and faster. Working as a team, never giving up, believing in ourselves and trusting one another knowing that we can work together and win games. Showing moves that my cousin was taught in Karate and improving himself by making himself better.

Target audience- This music video is aimed at people who enjoy doing sports and who enjoy watching sports and also for people who love listening to Daft Punk and who enjoy their music.

Production diary

Day 1
On our first day we were talking about the style, scenario,Imagery etc for type of music that we like listening to. The song that I was doing was Daft punk harder, better, faster, stronger. We were discussing how the song sounds futuristic and that the performers wear robot masks, which proves it's very electronic music and funky.

Day 2
We were watching other people's music videos, on how they were created and the type of skills they have done. Some Music videos, did one long shot of the music videos, some of them even did many shots but keeping the shots to the beat of the music.

Day 3
We were told to make a music video with a partner and to find out what it is like to make a music video. I was partners with Josh Smith and we did ''WAR what is it good for''. The type of techniques that we did was keeping the clips to the beat of the music. There were some errors where the shots weren't kept to the music, but we know now that we keep the clips to the beat of the song.

Day 4
We were watching everyone's music videos that they created with their partners and giving them feed back about what was good and what could be improved.

Day 5
We were discussing the songs that we chosen to describe the imagery, the style, scenario etc. And finding out what the song is all about and what is the message that the artist are trying to say to us.

Day 6
We were given an assignment to create our very own music video, but it has to be independent work instead of being with a partner. The song that I chose was Fleetwood Mac-The chain, but there was a problem as I didn't have any actors willing to take part in the music video. So I had to come up with another idea for another song for me to do. The song that I chose instead was Daft Punk- Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.

Day 7
I was talking about the style, the scenario, the imagery etc. About how the music video is going to be set up and how the music video is going to look like on the set. My plan was to get a group of people and doing different variety of sports. I was filming Middlesbrough college rugby academy, Cyclists, Karate and my friends and I working out at the gym, but unfortunately my friend couldn't come so we had to scrap that idea and just do rugby, cycling and karate.

Day 8
I was planning and filling in the forms for my music for example the equipment I needed, and the actors that are starring in my video and also the locations is well.

Day 9
I was filming my cousin doing his karate moves, using a black magic camera. We did about 5 long shots of him doing karate moves in my back garden, in his full uniform of karate.

Day 10
I was filming at Middlesbrough college on the astro turf with the rugby team, but I wasn't the cameraman. The person that I had filming me and my rugby team was Kieren Dixon. We used a black magic camera again for the filming.

Day 11
I uploaded the video clips onto the editing computer and saved them onto the D drive and I started my editing on adobe premiere.

Day 12
I took the black magic camera again and went to Stokesley and filmed the Tour De Yorkshire. I got 4 long shots of the cyclists cycling past me and got some shots off the big screen.

Day 13
I uploaded the clips onto the editing computer and saved them onto the D drive. I added them into adobe premiere and did more editing on my music video.

Day 14
I added a fade out and a fade in the video, I added in titles to the video, and I also added curves to make the pictures more brighter and colourful and that they are very clear to see on the music video. I wanted to add the video clips to beat of the music but I was running out of time and had to get the music video done as fast as I can.

Day 15
I exported the video and I uploaded the video onto YouTube for everyone to see the work that I have done and to see how many views and see if there are any improvements that need to be made to the video.
